Membership,
We have made several attempts to have membership meetings, but due to circumstances beyond our control, we have not been able to set one up so far. But Egg Harbor Twp. Lt. Jay Woods has graciously accepted to host the Iron Dog Challenge for 2007. It will be on April 28th. See the registration form on the Events page. T-Shirts are available. There will be a general membership meeting after the event with lunch being served. We could use anyone that can come and help out.
Gloucester City Police is still missing a PSD black GSD. There is a reward being offered for his safe return. Any information, contact Jim Kaelin. Please pass the word.
All the recent rule changes will be voted on at the upcoming meeting May 16, 2007. Direct any ideas to the board.
Memberships: So far to date we have 153 members for 2007. That is outstanding for March of the year. This makes our job a lot easier. Please get your memberships in. We are no longer accepting them at the events. They must be paid prior or you will not be admitted. Detector Certification: April 14, 2007 will be a Detector Certification hosted by the NJSP. Please note there is a deadline for registration forms. No one will be admitted after that date. And your membership must be up to date. We will not have time to accept them that day. So please get your updated membership into James Kaelin. We need judges and stewards for this event. If you would like to help out, please call me or e-mail. Practice Detector Testing: April 13, 2007, 8 am -2 pm Friday, there will be time to practice for the next day's certification. Please call Scott Poulton or Joe Nicholas if you are planning to attend this practice. They need a count of people coming that day. Explosive teams, this could help you.
PD2: May 4, 2007, the PD2 will be hosted by NJSP Fort Dix Wrightstown area, 12 pm. Please call Joe Nicholas for a spot. Space is limited to 15 teams. If you can't come to this one, we are planning more this year. This is the second one.
PD1: To date, we have not been able to secure a host for our annual regional PD1 this year. That is the reason you have not seen a date posted yet. Right now we have nothing set, and still need a host to help out. Please contact the board if you can do this. Time is getting short.
Fundraiser: Region 15 is participating in a fundraising campaign. The company is Stage-Door Productions from Connecticut. This started in the Camden Co. and Gloucester Co. areas and will be moving to others in the next few months. Everyone please spread the word that this is a legitimate fundraiser for us, Region 15. We are planning some exciting things for our members with proceeds from this. For example, a micro-chipping clinic for this summer. May 16th -20th, 2007 is the National Detector Trial in Cloquet, MN for anyone interested. Other Regional Events; Region 6 - March 29, 2007 Cadaver Certification. Limited space.
