Canine Legal Update, Defensive Tactics and Tactical Tracking

Pennsylvania Sheriffs' Association in conjunction with the CHESTER COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE K-9 Unit will be sponsoring a three day training session. The training will take place at The Inn at Chester Springs Hotel Conference Center in Exton, Pennsylvania.

In order to optimize teacher to student ratio, a maximum of ten (10) K-9 teams will be allowed in the tactical courses. However, each tactical seminar consists of an arrest / search team of five (5) personnel.

As such, even though you are not working a dog, you can
participate in numerous exercises by rotating through these various team positions. There will be hands-on involvement as a team leader, contact officers and cover officers. You will be working along side the handler's dog.

You can learn just as much by acting in these roles as
you would actually working your dog. In addition, an unlimited number of observers are allowed.
The K-9's should be experienced, street working dogs. The tactical seminars are not designed for green (new) dogs.

Due to limited space for defensive tactics and tracking, teams from The Pennsylvania Sheriffs' Association & Region 6 K-9 teams will be given priority until MARCH 1, 2010 FINAL Deadline July 1, 2010.
